Over a quarter-century ago, Xerox introduced the modern graphical user interface paradigm we today take for granted. That it has endured is a testament to the genius of its design. But the industry is now at a crossroads: New technologies promise higher-bandwidth interaction, but have yet to find a truly viable implementation. 10/GUI aims to bridge this gap by rethinking the desktop to leverage technology in an intuitive and powerful way.
Makes you wonder what the future of the Linux desktop will look like.

I want it!! Sadly, Linux will have it only when it's an already established technology. To implement this, hardware is needed; and so, we can't take the lead.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, it looks like it's using a linux kernel to begin with so all 10gui have to do is bring the hardware to market with a distro-cd or drum up support with the current Linux Distro makers and you have a viable product, I know I'd buy one, that looks like it would be more productive then just using a mouse.
ReplyDeleteIt looks good, might be the next step for us command line geeks who try to avoid the mouse!
ReplyDeleteAmazing....
ReplyDeleteBut anyway - this is for the geeks or at least GTD freaks. A normal user often is overwhelmed when just using a single finger / mouse pointer. ;-)
